UPDATE: Coronavirus Job Retention Scheme information for businesses as at 07.04.20

On Saturday 4 April the Govt updated guidance for the Coronavirus Staff Retention Scheme for businesses in light of the COVID-19 pandemic.

Employer guidance has been updated in line with some of the main queries HMRC has received from stakeholders. The main areas that have been updated are:

  • more detailed information on scheme eligibility
  • further information on how to calculate a claim
  • clarification of what constitutes wages

NOTE – HMRC has indicated that the online system for claims will be available by the end of April. However, we advise all employers in the Angel who have furloughed staff to read this updated guidance to ensure you have the required information ready for when the portal opens.
