Reporting Crimes and anti-social behaviour in the Angel – who and when to contact
Businesses within the Angel have a range of people and various methods in which to report crime and anti-social behaviour. It is important that your workers know who to contact in certain situations, so here is a brief summary:
In an emergency, call 999 – an emergency is if a crime is occurring now, someone is in immediate danger / or there is risk of serious damage to property or a suspect for a serious crime is nearby.
Call or text our Business Crime Officers on 07866 202 607 – if you are a customer-facing business and have a suspected shoplifter or your staff simply feel uncomfortable with a person’s behaviour and need support. You can also call or text our Business Crime Officers if you witness anti-social behaviour in the Angel.
Call 101 – if there is a non emergency situation that does not require an immediate response.
Message other businesses via the Angel ShopWatch or PubWatch WhatsApp Groups – if you are retail business or licensed premises and want to alert other businesses of a suspected shoplifter or other suspicious behaviour, please join our ShopWatch or PubWatch WhatsApp Groups by emailing christine@angel.london with your full name, Company and mobile number and we will arrange for you to be added.
Reporting crimes online – it is imperative that businesses report all crimes, however insignificant they may seem. Only by reporting all incidents of crime, will the Met Police be able to make judgements on future resources for the Angel. We encourage all businesses to report crimes, including shoplifting, via the Met Police website HERE.
