New test & trace rules for hospitality and close contact businesses when re-opening
The rules on what you need to do when a group enters your venue have changed – everyone will need to check-in, not just the ‘lead’ party member.
From 12 April, it will be mandatory for hospitality and close contact businesses to ask every customer or visitor to scan the NHS QR code using their NHS COVID-19 app or provide their name and contact details, not just a lead member of the group. This is to ensure that everyone receives the necessary public health advice in a timely manner.
Businesses will be encouraged to refuse entry to those who will not check-in.
