Line-up announced for ‘Celebrate Islington Community Festival’
Drumming, dancing, ukuleles and more will be entertaining people at the vibrant ‘Celebrate Islington Community Festival’ next month.
Free fun, stalls, and food and drink will be taking over Islington Town Hall in Upper Street on Wednesday, July 12 from 5.45pm-9pm. The festival aims to showcase the area’s rich diversity, boost morale and promote collaboration among community groups for the benefit of all.
After the official opening and introduction from the council and community groups, the programme will include:
6.25pm Flame Young Theatre Players – drumming & dancing
6.35pm The Yukes – ukulele group
6.55pm Brickworks Community Dance Group
7.05pm Spoken Word + Audience Participation
7.15pm Peter Crockett + Marco – music
7.45pm St Luke’s Hip Hop intergenerational women’s group
8.05pm Rona Topaz – solo singer – a blend of covers and originals
8.15pm African Dance & Drum Group
8.25pm Richrhythm – singer
8.40pm Healthy Generations – Singalong
