Latest on Holloway Road works

It isn’t often you hear that building works will be finished ahead of  time but TfL are expecting to complete their Holloway Road bridge works ahead of schedule in Spring 2018, rather than summer. They’ve now started the final stage, resurfacing the road and finishing the kerbs and footways. Here’s the latest travel news – updates at tfl.gov.uk/highbury-corner

Buses

Local bus routes are now serving all bus stops in the area. Bus stops A and B will return to their original location, nearer to Highbury Corner roundabout, before summer.

Cyclists

A signed alternative route remains in place for cyclists via Liverpool Road. Please use this route to avoid the works at Highbury Corner. The bike racks temporarily located behind the old station entrance on Highbury Crescent will be returned to their normal location at the junction of Holloway Road and Highbury Place when footway works are completed in this area.

Highbury & Islington station

London Overground services through Highbury & Islington station will be affected at weekends until mid-February 2018 while final works are finished below the new bridge. For more information and alternative routes visit tfl.gov.uk * Service and network charges may apply. See tfl.gov.uk/terms for details

Pedestrians

Temporary changes to walking routes will remain in place around Highbury Corner while we rebuild the footways in the area. Please follow the signed walking routes. Access to local shops and businesses will be possible at all times.

Road users

Temporary lane restrictions will remain in place at Highbury Corner but traffic will be maintained in both directions at all times. Please allow more time for journeys and seek alternative routes, where possible. Live road travel information is available from tfl.gov.uk/trafficnews and @TfLTrafficNews on Twitter. Access between Highbury Place and Holloway Road will stay closed to vehicles, including cyclists, until February 2018 while we carry out final works in this area.
