It’s probably nothing but….
This week is National Counter Terrorism Awareness Week – a campaign by the police services to remind us about safety and security, and encourage vigilance against all types of terrorism, including threats of attack and even cyber crime. It’s a chance to re-focus on what is being done to tackle it, how communities can help, and offers practical advice about how to stay safe and keep a close eye on what’s going on, at home, in business or online.
The internet and social media provide ways for those with extreme views to target young or vulnerable individuals. The Counter Terrorism Internet Referral Unit put considerable effort into removing terrorist and extremist material. They depend on information from the public and are grateful for the help from communities has helped defeat terrorism. So – if you have any concerns about anything you’ve seen online, then report it in confidence to the Anti-Terrorist Hotline on 0800 789 321 or click this button
