Hear our plans for net zero in the Angel at the Net Zero Festival
Angel BID’s plan of action to create a more sustainable neighbourhood will be shared at the Net Zero Festival next week.
BID CEO Ben Stephenson will launch the plan before chairing a panel discussion, ‘We’re all in this together: action at the neighbourhood level‘, on Tuesday, October 31, at 11am,exploring how businesses and residents can work together to create a hyperlocal strategy. Panelists will include Nic Durston from South Bank BID, Nicole Gordon from Better Bankside BID, and Simeran Bachra, from sustainability consultants Anthesis, which has helped formulate Angel BID’s net zero plans.
Delegates will hear how the Angel strategy will focus on three levels of action – first, what businesses can do to achieve net zero, second, what businesses and the BID can do together at the neighbourhood level to coordinate programmes that reduce Angel’s emissions, and finally, how we respond to Islington Council’s strategy.
The Net Zero festival takes place on October 31 and November 1 at the Business Design Centre. It includes a packed programme of talks, workshops, panel discussions and products, including speakers Alastair Campbell and Joanna Lumley. It is expected to be a sold-out event but a waiting list system will be running.
