angel.london BUSINESSSES TAKE PETITION TO THE TREASURY
angel.london businesses have marched to Downing Street to hand in a 12,600-strong petition from businesses and residents all over Islington calling on the government to stop its proposed hike in business rates.
Many shops and restaurants at the Angel are facing a 45% rise – the third highest in London – and could be forced to close. It means our beloved Angel could lose the quirky and interesting smaller businesses that draw people here.
We joined Islington Council and Islington Chamber of Commerce to protest about the new rates, and sent out a petition for everyone to sign. We thank everyone who’s signed so far – and our business champions from Angel who took it there.
