BID services over Christmas and New Year


This year the BID offices will be closed from Friday, December 22, to Tuesday, January 2, 2024. You may wish to make a note of the following services available to you over Christmas and the New Year:

Recycling services will be available on December 27, 28 and 29. Requests for bags and labels are by email only to tracy@angel.london and please allow at least 48 hours for delivery. 

We are pleased to confirm that we will be offering our FREE Christmas tree collection and recycling service for BID levy payers again from Tuesday, January 2. Simply email tracy@angel.london with details of your business and the number of trees you have for collection. Any trees you have will need to be placed at ground floor level on the day of collection.

Islington Council will be offering commercial waste collection services as follows:

For sack collections

December 24 – normal service
December 25 – no service
December 26-31 – normal service 
January 1 – normal service

For commercial bin collections

December 24 – normal service
December 25 – no service
December 26-29 – the service will run a day behind your regular collection day
December 30-31 – normal service
January 1 – no service
January 2-5 – the service will run a day behind your regular collection day
January 6 – normal service

If you use a waste contractor other than Islington Council, please check their schedules over the Christmas period to ensure you do not receive a fine if your waste is not collected.

Our Business Crime Team will be working in the Angel town centre up to, and including, Friday, December 22, and will return on Tuesday, January 2, 2024

Please remember to follow these procedures if you need the assistance of the police:

Call 999 

  • If a crime is in progress and you need help right away
  • If there’s danger to people or property
  • If you have detained somebody

Otherwise, call 101or report on-line at www.met.police.uk.

When reporting a crime, make sure you tell the call handler:

  • If anyone has been verbally threatened, attacked, injured or a victim of hate crime
  • If the offender is still at the scene or in the area
  • If anything has been stolen and if any of it has been recovered
  • If there is a safeguarding issue in that the offenders are young, elderly, may have disabilities, or could be affected by drug or alcohol use
