Angel lights herald the festive season

We love our Christmas lights and are thrilled to see them sparkling in the trees again this year.

Our all-Angel switch on celebration was a real success (despite the weather) with popular Islington mayor Una O’Halloran coming to greet all our favourite shops and traders, and Father Christmas appearing in Chapel Market and switching the lights in at Angel Central with his elves and reindeer. Mulled wine was flowing and we were all tempted by delicious mince pies.

And the winner of Islington Council’s Market Trader of the Year was announced as one of our very own – David Jackson who runs a fruit and veg stall right in the heart of Chapel Market.

It was marvellous to see so many shoppers and revellers enjoying the Angel. We hope our lights spread festive cheer and wish everyone a very merry Christmas.
