All set for the Pensioners’ Picnic

We’ve secured £1000 from the Business Design Centre as sponsorship for this year’s Cubitt Arts’ Picnic – a gathering which has been bringing older people together since 2014. Encouraging businesses to engage with charities and enhance their work is all part of our drive to make the Angel London’s most age-friendly town centre in London.

Says CEO of the BDC Dominic Jones: “We are very proud to sponsor the Cubitt Arts picnic. It’s a lovely and worthwhile event that brings older people together with other Islington communities to celebrate their creativity. They are people who both need and deserve our support and engagement. angel.london helps businesses get involved with local charities to make a real difference to the community.”

The Cubitt picnic features art workshops, live music, a dance company and, of course, plenty of tea and cakes.

Says Cubitt Arts’ programme manager Esther Collins: “The BDC sponsorship means this year we will be able to make a real difference through contacting more isolated older people. It means we can make better contact with staff at care homes to enable residents to be part of the event.”

“The Arts Picnic is older people’s chance to demonstrate their vitality, the benefits of working with artists and the diversity of Cubitt’s creative programme. We are really grateful to the Business Design Centre for their support, and angel.london for securing it.”
