Angel flooding – water main replacement travel update

Bus routes northbound along Essex Road are being diverted along Upper Street as Thames Water gets on with surveying and replacing the burst water main.

Essex Road is closed to northbound buses near Islington Green. It means bus stops C in Islington Green and K, EA and EB in Essex Road are closed.

Routes 38, 56, 73, 341, 476, N38, N73 are being diverted northbound through Upper Street and Canonbury Road, returning to their normal route north of Essex Road station. They serve bus stops on the diversion, including stops Z and P in Upper Street, and ED at Essex Road station. Buses will run normally southbound. The overall work will take five months in four phases and is expected to last until the Autumn.

Thames are holding four more drop-in sessions with their Customer Experience Coordinator to discuss how the work might impact you. They will have a Thames Water Bus located outside Sofa.com, 359 Upper Street, Islington, N1 0PD from 10am to 2pm on:

  • Wednesday 14 June
